HO Conrail White Patch Decals

HO Conrail White Patch Decals

$9.00

Upon Conrail’s creation on April 1, 1976 it was important to establish a recognizable corporate identity, so almost immediately, token units of motive power, cabooses and freight cars around the system were repainted into colors with the new “steel wheels” logo. However, as a starting railroad they did not always have the manpower or availability to repaint everything at once, so operational equipment was quickly patched with the initials of Conrail. Styling variations occurred across the system depending on the stencil design or the particular shop, but they all said the same thing: CR. Additionally, cabooses were also patched to quickly give the name of the new company, without repainting, so a stenciled CONRAIL was applied too.

This set covers all available variations of the locomotive patches in addition to including enough for doing two stenciled cabooses.

Detailed instructions for decaling can be found in any standard set given by major manufacturers supplied with their product, such as Microscale.
