HO PRR H49 & H50 Plain Keystone Covered Hopper Decals (1966+)

HO PRR H49 & H50 Plain Keystone Covered Hopper Decals (1966+)

$5.00

In 1966 and 1967, the PRR had its last two covered hopper classes built for them by Pullman Standard, a smaller 2-bay version of the 3-bay H46 (PS2-CD), 125 of class H49 were built in June 1966 with a capacity of 3018 cubic feet. In October and November 1967, 100 class H50 were built with a cubic foot capacity of 3140. Specific service assignment data for the H49 was inconclusive but known assignment data is included. All H50 class cars were assigned to specific locations. Due to when these cars were built for the PRR, the entire fleet lasted into PC and even CR without getting repainted into successor schemes.

This sheet includes data for doing one complete H49 or H50 covered hopper. The data has been grouped together based on the class of cars, and by the panel location to make cutting and applying the decal easier. See the diagram for proper placement. There are eight different reweight/repack dates, with five different locations based on the specific service assignments. [P18-Camden, NJ; P129-Northumberland; P283-Ebenezer, NY; P364-Cleveland; P630-Columbus]

The H49 and H50 classes have been done as a 3D printed kit by 3D Central Trains. A big thanks for providing files which assisted in the creation of this decal set go to Alec and Matt Herman.

For painting instructions any of these covered hopper cars in the Plain Keystone scheme (1966+) the entire car, including underbody, is to be painted gray, and trucks are painted black.
